Peter Becker leads all initiatives in tyre technology, research and new product development, especially keeping in mind the mobility needs of European customers. He works across geographies with Apollo’s material sciences, research, technology, design and testing teams based out of the three Technology Centres in Limda, India; Durban, South Africa and Enschede, Netherlands. Peter Becker plays an active role in bolstering Apollo’s ability to cater tyres based on customer needs in each of the three continents Apollo operates in by building a high efficiency R&T team.
A Mechanical Engineering degree-holder from Germany, as part of his education Peter Becker spent time as an apprentice at Deutsche Lufthansa AG studying aircraft mechanics. His last assignment was with Goodyear Dunlop Germany where he oversaw all aspects of tyre development. Peter has also spent a significant part of his career working in various positions of leadership at the Sumitomo Group’s testing facility SP Reifenwerke GmbH at Hanau, apart from three years spent developing special vehicles at Opel AG. |
