U S Oberoi is a member of Apollo Tyres’ Board of Directors and among Apollo’s longest serving employees. Having joined the organisation in 1980, as Deputy General Manager, Marketing, he played a crucial role in taking marketing services to new heights. In 1990, as Vice President, Projects, he was responsible for setting-up Apollo’s Limda Plant – today counted amongst South Asia’s largest and most technologically advanced tyre manufacturing units – in Gujarat, India; a task which he completed way ahead of schedule in just 14 months.
A commerce graduate, he began his career as a Sales Trainee with Premier Tyres in 1964 and since then has worked extensively in the Indian tyre industry. |
