Satish Agarwal plays the pivotal role in benchmarking and implementing best practices in Apollo’s manufacturing facilities across geographies and in enhancing capacity, productivity and technology usage in plant-level processes. Also known as the ‘Quality Man’ in Apollo, for his thorough understanding of Six Sigma processes, over time he has established quality centric systems. During his tenure as Plant Head, Satish Agarwal transformed Apollo’s manufacturing unit in Limda, in the western state of Gujarat, into one of Asia’s largest and most advanced tyre manufacturing facilities.
A graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College in northern India, he studied management at the Michigan University, USA. Before joining Apollo in 2000, he worked in diverse industry sectors with organisations like ITC and Samtel Colour. In his spare time, he enjoys giving guest lectures at India’s premier engineering and management institutions, apart from engaging in the study of human behaviour. |
