K Prabhakar is Apollo’s lead manager for all growth projects. Post the acquisition of Dunlop Tyres, South Africa, K Prabhakar was the Chief Operating Officer, where he played a key role in the seamless integration of the two organisations. He joined Apollo Tyres in 1989 as Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering. In 1995, he was instrumental in setting-up a world-class radial plant for passenger car tyres in Gujarat, India.
A Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from REC Trichy, in south India, K Prabhakar is also a postgraduate in Industrial Engineering from TIPIE, NPC, Chennai. An avid reader and academic at heart, he delivers lectures at prestigious Indian institutes whenever time permits. Prabhakar began his career as a consultant with the National Productivity Council in Kanpur and Chennai, India.
